The St. Edmund's Wolf and Chambers 1505 (YN55 PZG) in Bury St. Edmunds - 7 Nov 2017 (DSCF0279)

The St. Edmund's Wolf and Chambers 1505 (YN55 PZG) in Bury St. Edmunds - 7 Nov 2017 (DSCF0279)
Tuesday 7 November 2017 (1217) – H C Chambers and Son Limited (Go-Ahead) 1505 (YN55 PZG), an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD new to Metrobus (also Go-Ahead owned) in February 2006, seen at the Southgate roundabout (Southgate Green) in Bury St. Edmunds. Just visible on the left is the statue of a baying wolf which, according to legend, guarded the head of King Edmund after he was killed in 869 AD. The story goes that after being killed Edmund was decapitated and whilst his body was found his head was missing. Supporters heard the wolf call them and found the animal guarding the king’s head. Alongside the statute is the king’s crown.
