Stagecoach Fife LSK 545 (M106 XBW) (Scottish Citylink contractor) at Aberdeen - 27 Mar 2001

Stagecoach Fife LSK 545 (M106 XBW) (Scottish Citylink contractor) at Aberdeen - 27 Mar 2001
Tuesday 27 March 2001 (approx. 1315) – Stagecoach Fife 521 (LSK 545) was a 1995 Berkhof Excellence bodied Volvo B10M new to City of Oxford Motor Services as an ‘Oxford Tube’ coach in 1999 (as M106 XBW?). It was seen in Aberdeen bus station loading as the 1320 Scottish Citylink service 968 to Edinburgh. It had previously worked the 0755 service 968 from Edinburgh and had arrived at 1207. I had travelled overnight into Glasgow on the London-Milton Keynes-Glasgow-Inverness National Express coach and my plan was to then travel on two Scottish Citylink services to reach Aberdeen purposely changing coaches at Perth. I had purchased a ticket for this journey but it got lost in the post. Making a phone call to Scottish Citylink from home on the day of my departure I was told to collect my ticket from the desk at Buchanan bus station. However, when I got there there was no ticket and no one knew anything about the problem! Anyway without further ado, the very helpful inspector immediately put me aboard the Aberdeen bound National Express coach that had also travelled from London. Excellent first rate customer service which any ‘normal’ passenger would have appreciated but……! You can’t win them all!!
