Northern National CU 6860 (F33 LCU?) at Manchester - 16 Apr 1995

Easter Sunday 16 April 1995 – Badly parked cars in Bloom Street, Manchester sometimes made it difficult for coaches leaving Chorlton Street Coach Station. Northern National 7033 (CU 6860), a Plaxton Paramount bodied Leyland Tiger (new in 1989 as F33 LCU?), was on full lock as it departed for Newcastle-upon-Tyne on service 381 that had started out at 1310 from Chester. At the time this station comprised drive through bays from Major Street, then a public thoroughfare but now part of the re-built coach station which features drive in bays. This side of the property is now used for some form of private car parking. Just visible behind is Yorkshire Rider 1426 (L546 XUT), a Plaxton Premiere bodied Volvo B10M, in the ‘Express Shuttle’ livery for the Manchester to Leeds service (361) and Manchester to Bradford service (362).
