Thursday 20 February 2003 (approx. 0730) – The Red Lion at Whittlesford south of Cambridge, was used as overnight accommodation for the drivers of National Express services for quite some time. Seen here before they returned north later in the day were Selwyn’s Travel 70 (P70 SEL), a 1996 Plaxton Expressliner bodied Volvo B10M, that would work service 314 to Southport and Arriva Northumbria 141 (V141 EJR), a 1999 Van Hool Alizeé bodied DAF, one of the regular performers on the National Express service 326 to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Cambridge. The previous day they would both have worked southbound on the same services.
