Highland Omnibuses FGS 872 - 26 May 1967

Highland Omnibuses FGS 872 - 26 May 1967
Friday 26 May 1967 - Highland Omnibuses CD10 (FGS 872) was a Duple bodied Bedford A4LB9 new in 1954 to the Achnasheen Hotel Company for operation on the mail bus service from Achnasheen to Laide and Aultbea. Highland acquired the bus services of the Hotel Company in March 1965 along with this bus which was seen at Achnasheen railway station. The midday train bound for Kyle of Lochalsh stands in the background as it waits for the Inverness bound train to arrive. The line is single track and there is a passing loop here. The bus had worked in from Laide via Aultbea, Gairloch and Kinlochewe to connect with the trains and after meeting the trains it would return to the coast - a journey of around 45 miles.
