Saturday 9 November 2014 (0908) - Mulleys Motorways Limited added two Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL double deckers to their fleet in August 2014 which had been new to Dublin Bus in Ireland. X56 XAW was formerly Dublin Bus AV107 (00D 70107) new in November 2000. Behind the driving seat is a hinged box held closed with a swivel catch of the type fitted to used ticket bins and the like. There is a circular hole (just visible on the left edge) allowing something to be inserted or deposited. I am curious as to what the box was for. There doesn’t seem to be a lockable feature to the unit. I first wondered if it was a cash ‘drop box’ or such. Any ideas?
