Wreck of the HQMS Gayundah

Wreck of the HQMS Gayundah
at Woody Point.

An attempt at light painting.

Only two minor flaws with badly positioned flash units. I probably should have gone for a much longer exposure to try to get some colour in the sky, but at 7 minutes I figured the noise was going to be getting up there.

This was my first proper light-painting expedition.

B C, Simon Rancourt, FalconX, Ulrich have particularly liked this photo

It's a great photo, I like the result. I cannot see any flaws?

I've added a note on what I consider flaws in the process.

Oh now I know what you mean by visible flash... I thought that was an intended effect, 'cause I like it and think it's not a flaw.

Interesting, I've had quite a few people tell me here and elsewhere that they like the flash starburst.

I used to have one of those, but the lead acid battery inside is dead now. I really should get another one, they're very handy.

I've never tried it, but I have seen some images on that site that are pretty impressive. It looks like you have some very interesting locations to try it out.

I love it - and it was exactly that, what you call a flaw, the flash star that caught my eye :D

Wonderful!

:) Thanks Nicole. I still class it as a flaw, but hey, if other people like it, that's a bonus.

Very good job you did here... And I say as above, I kinda like the star.. :o)

Thanks :) I think the star might work if it wasn't where it is, for instance, if it appeared to be in the sky.

I'm guessing this is here until it rusts away completely.
