Great composite- I guess you got a very good view of the eclipse- couldn't see it here with the could cover.

David de Groot replies:
We had some cloud cover (light and scattered) in the early parts, but it cleared up by the middle, much to our relief.

A really fascinating event and an amazing montage. The one we had in March looked the same. I never witnessed such an event before and I was most fascinated by the red tone when the moon was completely in shadow. Awesome.

David de Groot replies:
This was the first total eclipse I've watched the whole way through too. I've seen partial eclipses before, but nothing quite as dramatic as this.

First montage of the event I've seen - mind you I have gone a bit eclipse blind since yesterday so may not have noticed the others. Either way that makes yours the best.

David de Groot replies:
hehehe thanks, I can relate to that. I've definitely seen more photos of the moon in the last 12 hours than I have in all my time before.

Gorgeous David! (pst, check the date on your camera or something - time warp on the ipernity date ; ) )

David de Groot replies:
Oh yeah, the exif info is hosed. I was playing around with different backgrounds and used a shot from Australia Day at one stage and of course that's the exif info that stuck in the photo. I didn't notice until after I'd uploaded.

David de Groot replies:
Thanks. It wasn't particularly difficult, the shooting taking considerably longer than the montage.

I heard it was cloudy over great parts of the Northern Hemisphere last night. It's a shame that, since they're quite good to watch.
