Hi David. Admiration for your strobist skills. I've been doing film for the past few months, but I think my next bit of kit will be some off camera lighting.
Definitely worth it Steve, it can add that extra something to a shot. Lighting gear can be really expensive, but can be relatively cheap too.
I'd recommend at least one flash, some way to trigger it off-camera and a light-stand and brolly for starters. Two flashes can lend a big boost, but mastering one first is probably the go.
Also, get a copy of Light, Science and Magic (3rd Ed) - excellent book with good examples.
