Красное Платье

Красное Платье
... with apologies to Sergei Bondachuk.

Kees showed me the way ...

... that could be me in white strides... in my dreams ;)

... and if you haven't watched it yet ... take a winter's day, light a big log fire, pour a glass of wine and enjoy Bondachuk's amazing 'War and Peace' ... oh, and don't forget plenty of Green&Black's!

Nyet ... ;))) ... the wonders of Monsieur Translator.

Berlin was good fun, wasn't it ... I believe you have met a mutual friend (above) since then :) ... who I am going to visit next week.

Are you intending to go to Nice for the next Iper Meet? If so, I will see you then ... enjoy the rest of the weekend!

one of my teenager's most romantic film and most important novel...I think I must have seen the picture many many times over and over again...
it was King vidors realisation (1956)
no wonder you dream of Prince Andrey's part !

One of the great novels of all time ... the Bondachuk version is very long but sooooooooo Russian ... yes, Bolkonskoi is quite a hero, a moral man but also a fool in his treatment of the delightful Rostova ... so much to take in ... don't get me started ... :)))

Yes, war and peace indeed!
... but also very romantic ... certainly then, in St Petersburg.
So, you would like to be Countess Natasha Rostova, eh? ;)

Such a wonderful book and a great film. This version, at least. It is a long time since I've seen it.
But I prefer Pierre Bezoukhov to Prince Andreï...

Shi* has replied to Charp
héhé ... I think the preference is another of those Heisenberg things ... depends on what you want to see ... now, if it is dancing then I think the Prince cuts quite a dash ... if on the other hand it is compassion then Pierre is your man ... horses for courses! :)
