I gained it so,
By climbing slow,
By catching at the twigs that grow
Between the bliss and me.
It hung so high,
As well the sky
Attempt by strategy.

I said I gained it, --
This was all.
Look, how I clutch it,
Lest it fall,
And I a pauper go;
Unfitted by an instant's grace
For the contented beggar's face
I wore an hour ago.

- Emily Dickinson

today I'm looking at the picture rather than the words...My first reaction was Lodchjo's I must say...I love this so wealthy and poetic curve made of diamonds...the most seductive reanchanting body.
And moreover I love nature spiders and webs of all sorts...

It is a delightful curve, or series of curves. I am always fascinated by the repetition of 'lines of beauty' to be found in nature whether it be a glistening spider's web or an enchanting derriere ... our human response to beauty is pure joy, what makes living so rewarding etc. I did think of you and your spiders at the time, it's true.

I can't begin to express the intense feeling I get from that line of glistening drops ... something so simple and so stimulating!
