My latest project!

My latest project!
I'm participating in a local workshop called "Coffin Club", in which we decorate our own cardboard coffin and learn about do it yourself funeral planning. Don't worry, the coffin can be flat packed and stored for up to 10 years, so I'm not going anywhere soon, I hope! It's a great way to come to terms with all types of grief, and very interesting to see how much money the funeral industry is gouging bereaved families for. These ridiculous policies apply worldwide! It's worth a look for those of you who would like to have an environmentally friendly burial, or who would like to save money and not be taken in by the funeral industry.

Oh and the coffin design is the lovely Anima Sola, representative of Lost Souls in Purgatory. The quote is a modified excerpt from the Allen Ginsberg poem, "Howl"... Who vanished into nowhere Zen Hastings leaving a trail of ambiguous picture postcards...

This sounds like an intriguing workshop. I live near a beautiful old cemetery and love to walk there and look at the headstones, but I decided a long time ago that I want to be cremated, mainly because of sustainability and cost concerns. But what to do with my ashes? Haven't really thought too much about it...

So you're decorating your own? Is this one just an example for the workshop participants?
