It was nice to see this old pole still in service. It was erected in 1937 by the Litchfield Electric Light & Power Company.

An old pole with a Westinghouse transformer hangs on after more than 80 years of service.

This pole has received a new transformer and 35 kV Hendrix visetops. A few fiberglass arms are visible in the background.

Good to see these chicken wing poles still standing with their original insulators.

I thought this was an interesting sight: a failed Hendrix visetop insulator.

I fear the end of service is quickly approaching for these old Hemingrays... Original photo:

Looks like the end is nearing for these old glass insulators on this pole I photographed back in 2011. One of them has sadly slipped from its pin and left the conductor resting on the arm. It'll be interesting to see if EVERSOURCE moves that phase to the unused line post insulator mounted on a ridge pin. Old photo:

This ancient pole, which I photographed back in 2012, is still hanging on!

See anything familiar here?

Quite a few changes have taken place at this pole. I first photographed a CL&P armless pole at this location in 2011: Then, in 2016, I noticed that EVERSOURCE Energy replaced the main pole while preserving the push-brace pole. The new pole had a fiberglass arm: Then, interestingly, I drove past the pole today and noticed that the fiberglass arm had been replaced by an off-center wooden arm. It seems odd to me that they did not use a conventional alley-arm on this pole.

EVERSOURCE replaced the fiberglass arm on this pole with a wooden arm! Below is an earlier photograph of the pole: A photo of the previous pole:

I saw this photo of Hendrix spacers being used for what looks like possible 12.47 kV distribution. Anybody care to guess where this line may be?
