Alabama Power 46kV & 4.16kV - Eufaula, AL

Alabama Power 46kV & 4.16kV - Eufaula, AL
Here's an original 46kV pole from Alabama Power, using the 2-arm "wishbone" construction style. These poles seem have been dwindling in number in recent years.

Note the curved pins meant to keep the insulators straight on the crooked crossarms.

Johnvosh, Jesse Lor, Tony Glen, David Dahle have particularly liked this photo

Interesting arrangement. Here's a very similar MidAmerican line I'll try and remember to get a pic of next week: www.google.com/maps/mmblah?ll=42.545493,-96.500945&spn=0.002314,0.003849&t=h&z=19&layer=c&cbll=42.545492,-96.501458&panoid=kHrdxjKBR_8mEByi4vGcQg&cbp=12,168.1,,0,-14.97

Interesting line there. I wonder how they did the pin holes? Those don't look like they use the same curved pins that Alabama Power did.

I've seen this type of construction in Indiana on their 34.5kv lines.
