Here is a nice example of early construction from Jacksonville Electric Authority, a municipally-owned electric utility that serves much of the Jacksonville area. This is in the old section of town before they consolidated with Duval County in 1968.

Not too much of this old stuff is left these days. JEA has converted much of the local grid to 13.2/23kV Y now, with mostly armless construction.

The pole you see here is one of the oldest left in the city and went up circa 1917-1925.

That is one old wacky looking pole there! Must have been really neat back in the day where the majoring of JV was 4160v.
