Look at all that glass! Glass on the shield wire, glass on the power primaries, and glass on the signal lines. Just beautiful!

At the left is an Idaho Power 7.2kV single phase distribution line.

I wouldn't be surprised if that 7200V pole was being used to power the 2400V system in a step down and back up configuration. I've seen a few such poles along the UPRR.

That would certainly be an interesting setup! Unfortunately I don't think this pole here is serving as a backup to the UPRR system--didn't see any idled transformers on the 2400 nearby feeding an underground secondary.
