CL&P 4.8kV - Watertown, CT

CL&P 4.8kV - Watertown, CT
I thought this was an odd line. It was constructed very recently, but does not conform to CL&P's current practices. What stands out the most is the use of 15 kV-rated porcelain insulators with jacketed conductors. I have not seen any 15 kV-rated mud on new CL&P construction since the 1990s.

CL&P also uses Hendrix visetops exclusively on jacketed conductors, but the jackets were stripped away on this line for the porcelain insulators to be tied to the wires.

My best guess behind this line is that it was erected by a third-party contractor for CL&P.
