Gang of young urban ailanthus, unwelcome fireworks display.

Gang of young urban ailanthus, unwelcome fireworks display.
These China-native "tree of heaven" Ailanthus altissima are an Invasive Species of Noxious Weed, and they've been working for years and years on taking over the entire N. American continent, among other continents.

A US editorial cartoonist could work some Ailanthus altissima into the margins of an editorial cartoon about Sino-US relations, and Americans would be smart enough to recognize the symbolism, right?
