If even dust-caked & lice-ridden sparrows turn up their beaks at these fruits then truly they must be spectacularly unpalatable. Everybody knows it was foolish to plant these trees along the sidewalks in town, because the fruits' juices stain people's shoes, not that there are ever very many pedestrians coming through here but still.
