How come the 5th Street Bridge hasn't got a Wikipedia write-up about it.

Anybody's "Category: Bridges completed in 1935" that hasn't got Parkersburg's stately 5th Street Bridge in it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. People ought to be able to learn about the bridge as they drive across it.

This is true: Years ago it was painted brilliant sky-blue!, but the West Virginia Dept of Transportation doesn't want anybody to remember that. Sometime WVDOT staffers decided that people were feeling too happy about their childhood memories, and that all of the bridge paint in West Virginia needs to be dark green.

Even among the dreary and awful snowing the dignifiedly-proportioned 75-yr-old 5th Street Bridge is yet able to hold its self up loftily above the Little Kanawha River. Had it been built in the 1950s or 1960s it would probably have collapsed into the river by now because that's when the U.S. started to try to get cheap.
