Water Ways

Water Ways
The Sunday Challenge: Get outside and do something: show us some water, a lake, a river, an ocean, a waterfall, a water drop on a flower.. your drink on the table.. the possibilities are endless!

Spent the afternoon at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Park, Maryland along the Great Falls of the Potomac River. The canal parallels the river for 180 miles.

Charlie has posted images from the canal.

Wow, I never would have realized the scale without the little kayak guy Christine. This is just amazing and I bet it was really loud there on the water. Splendid photo!

wow, what a marvelous natural landscape Cristine... I can only imagine the noise those cascades can do, it must be nearly frightening to stand in the middle to take the picture !!! SO interesting to see how small a human being can be in such a landscape !

Until you see the size of the people it is so difficult to realise the scale of these waters. Amazing scene and well captured.

blimey lady c, you really don't recognise the scale of the image until you spot the little kayak in green! a marvelous image displaying the might and power of this river. i really love white water rafting and have kayaked down a load of rapids too. the kayak thing though is a young persons sport and i left that behind when i hit 20! i still raft the rapids though and this river is just the perfect place to do it!
