A Long Time A Go In A Country Far, Far Away(explored)

A Long Time A Go In A Country Far, Far Away(explored)
Me and my mom. Taken in Sheffield, England during WW ll. The blue bird belonged to my mom and it is something that I remember her having while I was growing up.

Selective Color ALL done in camera. Post crop.

Get Personal ! Something that you own, anything, an item of clothing (embarrassing or otherwise), a trinket, photo, something you treasure, something you wish you'd never bought etc.

Use a technical option we have already done.

"ALL are in camera, no cheating on p/p (post-processing)"

Robert Wilson, Wierd Folkersma, autofantasia, Gillian Everett and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

Chris! This is fantastic! I love the difference in colour between the photo and the glass bird!

Now I am getting all sorts of ideas as to what I should have photographed!!

"Too late!!" he cried as he waved his wooden leg in Spanish!

Thank you so much for the enthusiastic comment Paul. Glad you like this, I wanted to do the blue bird in selective color and had to come up with a suitable background ... since it belonged to my mom, I decided to use a picture of her. :)

Very funny waving your wooden leg ... :)

Not too late to do another idea for the Not the Sunday Challenge this week.

Beautiful capture Chris. Agree the contrast between the frame and the blue glass is clever composition.

Oh, it is a bird =O On a small mobile phone display, and with rapidly weakening eyes of mine, I could not figure it out. Very nice setting and story =)

Thank you oh wise one! The little bird was always on a shelf out of reach of little hands and it's been in a shadow box here since my mom passed away. When it has moved with us, great care in packaging it for transport. :)

Beautiful shot, perfectly created. I doubt it's a Lalique without a mark. Pity.

Superb composition and technique Chris. Looking at that shot of your mother and then your profile shot it would appear you've grown up to look very much like her. :)

Thank you Paul for the very nice compliment. I seem to have inherited my father's coloring but look like my mom. My mom always said I was a Yorkshire Lass, never quite knew what she meant until I got older and was able to go back to England for a visit.
