I think families have their own phrases that get passed down to the younger generation ... I enjoy hearing them! Glad you like the shot and you know I appreciate the fave. :))

Don't creep me out Paul, it's probably a snake and that will send me over the edge or it's something that only comes out at night. lol

Cassidy if it's a snake, I won't need to tell you ... you will HEAR me all the way to the Yukon!! (especially if it surprises me!)

Lots of rain? Thanks glad you like the picture!

Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
Enough in a very short period of time to flood the streets and overwhelm the gutters!

Clickity Click has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
That will do it every time ... they sure do have a mess out around UCLA with that main waterline bursting. :(
3 years ago.
Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
I hadn't heard about that! Looks like a real mess! Our's broke a couple of years ago and it took them hours to shut it off! We didn't have near the flooding UCLA did though, but a lot of clean up after the water went down!

It looks like it's going to be a long time getting things under control and very costly!

Shuttering Yukon has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
norm... it's crick! good luck with the rain..we sure don't need it.. the rivers are about to burst their banks here.

Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Shuttering Yukon
I'm only allowed to use the term "crick" when I'm on the south side of US40! :-)

Clickity Click has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
now that is funny ... :)

Shuttering Yukon has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
haha, my Dad always said crick.. (he was 100% canuk all the way) so I say you are allowed.

Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
I was born south of US 40 and I caught a lot of grief in college using colloquialisms! I really try to avoid them today! :-)

I sometimes use English words and phrases that get folks to giggling! ( or strange looks). While I have lived in the States a very long time, they still pop out. Oh well , that's the way it is.:)

Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
One of my college friends married a fellow from Oxford. I did learn some of the words have quite a different meaning over there ... compared to here!
Clickity Click has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
Yes!!! Indeed you really have to be careful or you find yourself saying something embarrassing.lol
3 years ago.
Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
So far I've managed to avoid that! :-) Getting pissed has a whole different meaning though!
Clickity Click has replied to Indycaver (Norm)
Indeed!
Pissed -. Most people go to a bar to get pissed. Getting pissed means getting drunk. It does not mean getting angry. That would be getting pissed off! Have had to explain that English slang word to a few friends. lol

Indycaver (Norm) has replied to Clickity Click
It confused Julian a bit when he first came over here ... he couldn't understand why getting drunk had anything to do with the situation! :-)

That tree has been responsible for some nice silhouetted images but one has to take care as it is a Hawthorn and the very long thorns are deadly .... thanks Goffy.
