Wooden Du0

Wooden Du0
Wooden carved cats brought back for us by my brother from the Philippines during a tour of duty back in the early 1970's.

See note for a shot of just one which I titled, "and the Oscar goes to ...)

Angela Parker, Jon Smith, Lynne and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Had to read a bit about Bastet. She is the Patron Goddess of fire fighters due to the Egyptian belief that if a cat ran through a burning household she would draw the flames out behind her. Glad you mentioned her name, some interesting information about her. Yes they have a christined a bit but that's just me. :) Thanks for the Fave Jon.

lol ours run when they see a squirt bottle!!

I didn't know Bastat was the daughter of Ra and that she was one of the Gods worshiped in the southern region of Egypt. I find all of that history to be fascinating.
