Early in the morning on the "Normandie", the English coast appears. The "Normandie" is one of two ferries on the Caen/Ouistreham - Portsmouth route (the other being the "Mont Saint Michel"). La Tour Spinnaker est une tour d'observation haute de 170 m située à Portsmouth. Inaugurée en 2005, elle est devenu le symbole de la ville. Opposite is the "Saint Julien" boat washhouse, the last remaining example of a boat laundry. The city of Laval owns the two last ones in France, a unique heritage in Europe. These boats, which appeared in the mid-19th century, are a reminder of a traditional activity that has disappeared forever. SUR LES BORDS DE LA RIVIERE. En face on voit le bateau lavoir "Saint Julien", dernier témoin de la buanderie batelière. La Ville de Laval est propriétaire des deux derniers en France, un patrimoine unique en Europe. Ces bateaux apparus au milieu du 19e siècle sont le souvenir d'une activité traditionnelle à jamais disparue. AM UFER DES FLUSSES. Gegenüber sieht man das Bootswaschhaus "Saint Julien", den letzten Zeugen der Schiffswäscherei. Die Stadt Laval ist Eigentümerin der beiden letzten in Frankreich, einem in Europa einzigartigen Kulturerbe. Diese Boote, die Mitte des 19. Jh. auftauchten, sind eine Erinnerung an eine traditionelle Tätigkeit, die für immer verschwunden ist.
