Caché... et hanté ??

Le château de Combourg aux multiples vies est tour à tour forteresse protectrice, berceau du romantisme, hôpital militaire. Il fut entièrement restauré au XIXème siècle dans le goût néogothique sous l’influence d’Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. L'écrivain et homme politique François-René de Chateaubriand y passa son enfance et l’immortalisa dans ses "Mémoires d’outre-tombe". Classé monument historique, le château est toujours habité par les descendants de Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, frère ainé de l’auteur.

HIDDEN... AND HAUNTED ?? The castle of Combourg with "multiple lives" is in turn protective fortress, cradle of romanticism, military hospital. It was completely restored in the 19th century in neo-Gothic style under the influence of Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The writer and politician François-René de Chateaubriand spent his childhood there and immortalized it in his "Memoirs of beyond the grave". Listed as a historical monument, the castle is still inhabited by the descendants of Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, the author's elder brother.

VERSTECKTES SPUKSCHLOSS ? Das Schloss Combourg hatte mehrere "Leben": abwechselnd Schutzburg, Wiege der Romantik, Lazarett. Es wurde im 19. Jh. im neugotischen Stil unter dem Einfluss von Eugène Viollet-le-Duc vollständig restauriert. Der Schriftsteller und Politiker François-René de Chateaubriand hat dort seine Kindheit verbracht und sie in seinen "Erinnerungen jenseits des Grabes" verewigt. Das denkmalgeschützte Schloss wird noch immer von den Nachkommen von Jean-Baptiste de Chateaubriand, dem älteren Bruder des Autors, bewohnt.
