Landscape in Scandinavia? No, in the middle of Bretagne...

In 2015 Lake Guerlédan was totally dried up, revealing an astonishing landscape: frozen in the depths, the sunken valley resurfaced with its houses, its gardens, its locks, its dead trees...
The dam condition required the repairs of the sealing system to the upstream face and the renovation of the bottom valves and conduits.

Marie-claire Gallet, aNNa schramm, Philippe have particularly liked this photo

Lovely shot. The story and the earlier shots you took of this lake make the photo even more intriguing. I am glad to see the inset photos which will open up the story of the lakes' past to others who may not have seen the "drained lake" photos. I did not know you could add "hidden" inset pictures. That is very exciting. Well done, Christa, and warmest wishes from North Carolina, USA. Eric

Thanks Eric, this lake is really a great place in the center of Bretagne and showing a very unusual landscape. But the highlight was having seen it completely empty 3 years ago, it was fascinating.

Merci Marie-Claire. A voir le lac aujourd'hui, on ne s'imagine pas que tout un paysage à jamais disparu se trouve sous l'eau....
