I have no idea Steve but they reminded me of the fabulous anonymous knitters who decked out Saltburn Pier with the most amazingly detailed little figures without being seen!! I think if you google Salburn Pier Knitters you'll be able to see them.

I noticed on the local news that a forest in Cumbria has knitted mushrooms,insects,flowers,leaves etc. Contributions from all over the country!
