Put out to Grass (PiP) HFF!

This old boat, seen on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides has seen better days and looks as if it has been 'Put out to Grass' I have added this today as I too have 'reached the end of the line' as far as my working life is concerned and have just retired. Well the boat has retired to a beautiful spot. It's a lovely image. I've now been retired for over twenty years and they have been the best years of my life. I loved my job but there's nothing to beat freedom and being able to please yourself. Enjoy every moment.

Thank you very much Jean. It is nice not to have to get up and go work, particularly now that my dad is in hospital. It makes it easier as I don't have to try to juggle work and hospital visits but the 'us' time is on the back burner for a week or two until he is back on his feet.

I retired twice. The first time from teaching in a Secondary school, and after the end of the summer break I lasted all of 2 months before I really couldn't stand it, Carol. So I got 'back in the saddle' until 2008 when I reached 67, and it's been fine ever since. Enjoy it all. I sometimes wonder how I managed to get a full days work in. ;-)
