Thank you very much Jean. Really appreciated. It is indeed an amazing piece of engineering. To have had the imagination to come up with this concept was in itself quite incredible. I was blown away by it

Very different looking to the victorian Anderton lift but same result. Equally amazing engineering.
Great image.

Thank you very much Maggs. I must admit I had never heard of the Anderton boat lift until this week. I was intrigued and looked it up, - it looks very impressive but as you say very different from the Falkirk Wheel in appearance, - a bit like a giant pier. I would like to see it in use though.

Thank you very much Jeff. I am not usually into technical stuff and how things work but I was truly amazed by this. We went on to the Kelpies and it was one of the most fascinating days out we have had

An amazing piece of engineering very nicely captured,
Like the pip of the aqueduct at the top

Thank you very much Roger. Really appreciated. It looked as if it was about to rain and the boat seemed to take forever to arrive. Fortunately the rain held off as it was a bit exposed up at the top

Thank you very much Josiane. Really appreciated. It is a very impressive piece of engineering. You were able to take a short boat trip on it but we chose not to as you could see it in action better from the ground.

Marvelous Feat of engineering, takes me back to another story another day Carol. The weight with the water must be enormous.

Thank you very much Maurice. I have to say it was something I have always wanted to see but the reality was far more impressive than I had imagined. I was blown away by it. Sorry I can't comment any more but having read your article I completely understand where you are coming from, - I feel I am too long in the tooth myself to do things I no longer wish to do. Best wishes

Many thanks Diana. Really appreciated. We spent a while her as it was totally fascinating and also went on to the Kelpies. I have to say that for me this was one of the most wonderful days we have had. I hope you have a fabulous time and look forward to seeing the photos.

Hi Carol,

A superb picture of this, and a great demonstration of Archimedes principle to maintain both sides in balance. I visited here some years ago, but my pictures aren't as nice as yours!!
Sorry for lack of contact recently, I've been away on hols.

Best wishes
Peter

There is something enigmatic about it, though perhaps to see it in action would be to understand it a little better. It's an interesting image.
