Eine der größten Barockorgeln Europas steht im verschlafenen Odenwald-Städtchen Amorbach. Der monumentale, ganz in Weiß und Gold gehaltene Prospekt ist mit bildhauerischem Schmuck der Brüder Schäfer aus Karlstadt am Main verziert. Mit ihren 66 Registern (5116 Pfeifen) und einem Glockenspiel, verteilt auf vier Manuale und Pedal, verfügt die Orgel über einen unerschöpflichen Klangreichtum. Nicht nur die hohen solistischen Qualitäten eines jeden Registers, sondern auch die hervorragende Akustik der ehemaligen Abteikirche lassen ein Orgelspiel zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis werden. So hat die Amorbacher Barock-Orgel internationale Bedeutung.

One of the biggest baroque organs in Europe stands in the sleepy town of Amorbach. The monumental organ case, painted in white and gold, is decorated with sculptural decorations of the brothers Schäfer from Karlstadt/ Main. With its 66 registers (5116 pipes) and a glockenspiel, spread over four manuals and pedal, the organ has an inexhaustible wealth of sound.
