Happy Fence Friday to all my Ipernity friends!

Als „arm aber sexy“ bezeichnete der damalige Berlins Regierender Bürgermeister Klaus Wowereit 2003 seine Stadt. Einerseits hochverschuldet, andererseits anziehend und glamourös. Magisch lockt die Stadt Künstler, Sammler, Galeristen, Studenten und Touristen aus aller Welt mit niedrigen Mieten, spektakulären Museen und grellen Clubs. Aber auch viele Zuwanderer aus dem Bundesgebiet und aus anderen europäischen und außereuropäischen Staaten finden Berlin äußerst attraktiv. Und so wächst die Stadt, bald werden es 4 Millionen Einwohner sein.

As "poor but sexy" described Klaus Wowereit, former Governing Mayor of Berlin, his city 2003. On one hand, highly indebted, on the other hand attractive and glamorous. The city attracts magically students, artists, art collectors, gallery owners and tourists from around the world with low rents, spectacular museums and flashy clubs. But also many immigrants from Germany and from other European and non-European countries find Berlin very attractive. And so the city is growing, soon there will be 4 million inhabitants.
