I know I know, but I thought 'Oh one little caterpillar, and after all the garden/patio is meant for such balance'... but you're right... there are now about 20 of these all over the patio eating flowers :S

On July 5th, I found a Scarlet Tiger Moth over at Pebsham, brought her home to photograph and while she was with me she laid four eggs.
I took her back the next day and released her to lay the rest but decided to rear them.
One didn't make the first instar. We over-wintered three on bramble, and lost one late in winter. I've got two left and they are doing great on the bramble and comfrey.
I'm sure they will soon pupate and I'll keep you posted.
