EC-121 # 21 - This Reconissance Aircraft Shot Down by 2 North Korean MiG 21's, April 15th, 1969 - Killing all 31 Aboard
This photo taken of a Navy EC-121 Aircraft, from Squadron VQ-1, landing at DaNang Air Base March of 1969 returning from a Tonkin Gulf Mission. April 15th, this EC-121 # 21 with 31 Crewmen will be Shot Down 92 Miles Off the Coast of North Korea. All of the Crewmen will Perish. Years later the Americans Realize that the American Spy Johnny Walker Provided the Intelligence allowing the North Koreans to Shoot this Aircraft Down. The North Koreans were Murdering Bastards, and If the Vietnam War had not been occupying the efforts of the United States - There should have been some real Hell to Pay. Unfortunately, the Capture of the Pueblo in 1968 and the Shoot Down of this Aircraft April 15th, 1969 have never been Answered. A week ago, I heard that the North Koreans were Again Begging for Food, Well Let Them Continue to Eat Their Stray Dogs. That's All they are Worthy of.
I will never forget two of these Crewmen who showed up frequently at our Operations Center less than 1/2 mile away from this field, who would get briefings on collateral targets and missions, and then leave with a briefcase full of top-secret documents.
