Willie and John Pegram Windows, Confederate Memorial Chapel, Richmond, Va.

Willie and John Pegram Windows, Confederate Memorial Chapel, Richmond, Va.
Colonel William "Willie" Pegram Window on the Left, and General John Pegram Window on the Right.

At the age of 23, Willie was a brilliant artillery man, who rolled his artillery up within 200 yards of Union General Hancock (who had turned back Gen. Pickett's Charge of the Confederates at Gettysburg). Pegrams' daring and courage caused a massive defeat of Gen. Hancock, who abandoned his positions at Reams Station and was routed back to Petersburg - losing 3,000 men captured.
