I grew up in the outskirts of a forest, with this forest pond being a natural meeting point. There was barbecuing and swimming during summer, and skating in the winter. Not much of winter the last few years, though, no snow and hardly any ice.

From a walk in my childhood area this weekend. No snow yet (mum, will it be fall when Christmas arrives, or will winter come anytime soon?), but the forest pond has a thin layer of ice.
