Lalo was by far the biggest sea lion of Norwegian Zoo "Dyreparken". When he died at 19, he weighed close to 350 kilos. Lalo was the king of the sea lion's pool, ruling over the two smaller female sea lions (150 and 180 kilos each). In the wild, a sea lion is expected to live 10 - 15 years, but in Zoos they normally live 5 years longer due to the care and nutriocious food. The afternoon that Lalo died, he came up for dinner, but changed his mind and let himself slide back into the water, never to surface alive again. This photo was taken three weeks before his death.
For Ingo - this one is not quite as graceful..! ;)
