I remember this bridge and name and I always assumed that somehow they really did wash their sheep under the bridge!

Brings back memories for me Bill. In 1989 my late friend and myself stopped here on the way up to Monsal Dale, and our first ramble. We returned to the Peak District many times on our 2,081 mile journey.
