Scanned print

Scanned print
This was shot in 1997. This image never got used but I found this rough print amongst the negs and contacts. It was printed on a warm tone RC paper made by the Hungarian Forte company. I made a scan on my photocopier and put a couple of curves layers in luminosity with a quick mask to lift the detail in the doors.

August 22. Updated file. I realised how crude the scan was. So I did a little more p/s on it and generally took down the saturation.

This was shot on a Hasselblad 500ELX with the Distagon 50mm lens. The camera was either on a Leitz Tiltall tripod without the legs extended, unless I used a mini tripod clamp thing I had, or maybe some ad hoc arrangement with a tripod head. I remember scrabbling about on the pavement to get a low enough viewpoint that the sky would reflect off these bronze doors which were otherwise dark as sin.

Oooh Err! First view and you're right. I was going to crop it down to just the lions to make it a little more obscure but that spoiled the picture. It's one of the doors in the curtain wall on Prince's St.

Love the colors and the texture really pops in this.
