Maisí - mural

In the village of La Máquina - eastern Cuba

Voskhod (russian : Восход , which means sunrise) is the name of the motorcycle, produced by Degtjarjowerk in the russian town Kovrov since 1965. All Voskhod bikes had 175 ccm.

Täusche ich mich auf Grund Deiner Bilder oder ist dort in Kuba schon ein wenig sehr viel Revolutions "Werbung" zu sehen... ?

Du täuscht Dich natürlich nicht. Kuba = permanente Revolution. Dafür sieht man keine idiotische Werbung für 27 verschiedene Waschmittel (die eh alle von der gleichen Firma kommen), Zahnpasten oder Getränke - wie bei uns. Es gibt praktisch keinerlei Werbung und das ist sehr wohltuend.

Voskhod is also the name of a soviet spacecraft in which Alexei Leonov did the first spacewalk in 1965. I suppose the name of the bike came from that spacecraft.
