Hi Berny, love this series on the textile mill. Great work.
What I don't understand is why there is so much just left lying around.
Almost as though all were told at the end of the day, turn everything off and don't come back tomorrow.

As far as I know, there were no workers during the last years, only the owner worked at small orders and after final insolvency of the company the owner lived there until his death.

Sad to hear of the failure of the business and his eventual death, obviously
" still on the job"

This is the narrow space between the backsides of the machines, so I think the main work was done from the other side. Nevertheless, sure a very hard work.

A wonderful set of images Berny, when they were running the noise would have been incredible they don't appear to be that old as there is no overhead drive shaft and belts. In the past a lot of child labour was used in the weaving sheds. On my page 7 there are a couple of shots from a restored mill, Quarry Bank Mill

I already detected your treasures 4 months ago, Peter, and yes, they seem to be a bit older. But also machines of the end of the 19th century could be found in this mill. Thank you!
