Ripon Autumn Classic 2011
Mark Woodward Classic Events organise several events each year and two of them take place at Ripon Racecourse.
Both the Autumn Classic (seen here) and the Spring Classic are well worth a visit and can't be recommended enough.
Hope you enjoy browsing through the album.

This is the star of my "It Really Is A Dog's Life" bit of fun from a few days ago. First she wouldn't look at me and then she wouldn't stay still ... what is it they say about working with animals!
2005 Pembleton Brooklands - OTL 177Y

|
|
The Pembleton captures the business-like looks of a classic 1920s open top sports car, but is actually a recent introduction to the kit car market. As with most kit cars a single donor vehicle is required to complete the car, most commonly a Citroën 2CV, although this one is BMW powered, and it's claimed one can be completed for as little as £1,800.
The chassis is ready to accept the all major components and in no time will be on its wheels. The body panels are cut from aluminium using the patterns supplied.
Long or short-wheel base 3 or 4 wheel chassis are available and all incorporate a steel frame around the cockpit. You can find out more about these exciting little cars by visiting the sites listed below:

1967 Triumph TR4A - JKV 358E

The Triumph TR4A, built between 1965 and 1968 by the Triumph Motor Company in the United Kingdom, was not surprisingly an evolution of the TR4, but updated somewhat with a new chassis.

Not normally that into the MG, but I did like this one. As far as I know it's a TD, but I'm no expert on these.

I tend to not like it when cars have their bonnet up as I think it spoils the lines of any photo you take.
However, once in a while you see a car that's so tidy that it's be a shame not to have the engine on show.

Well, sort of ... looks more like rain!
Anyway, there's that lovely gold Chevette in the foreground and that beautiful old Ford Zodiac parked alongside.

Land Rover is reputedly the second oldest four-wheel-drive car brand in the world (after Jeep). The very first ones were produced back in 1948, so TYD 645, which can be seen in the background would have been one of the earliest ones produced.
Whereas, L90 MOD (love that registration) is a much more modern vehicle having been manufactured in 1997.

Labrador or Retriever, I'm never sure what the difference is.
What I am sure of is that it was what we Scots would call "a bonnie dug" ... that andth fact it looked rather bored!

Okay, perhaps not as sexy as the Vette, but still a much cherished and worthy old car.
1956 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Pick-Up V8 - 930 UXC

I really liked this old F-100, but never managed to get a clean shot with the bonnet down.
I did snatch a shot of it from the back though as it was leaving the showground, which I'll upload next.

This one's for you Ann ...
The RV8 was released in 1993 by Rover with the intention of keeping the classic MG name alive and uniting traditional MG customers with more modern motoring enthusiasts. However, due to its very high price in the UK the car did not find the demand Rover had hoped for.
1,982 RV8's were manufactured in total, with 80% of them being sold in Japan, and the vast majority of Japanese versions being Woodcoat Green.
As well as the performance offered by a V8 engine in a 1,250 odd kg chassis, the interior featured luxury refinement in the form of veneered burr elm woodwork and Connolly leather.
