Member Association Bylaws ...

Member Association Bylaws ...
Message posted on 20th February by William Sutherland within the Progress of the Project thread within Ipernity Members Association Project group.

The message concerns the bylaws for the IMA and reads as follows:

The bylaws for IMA were unanimously agreed upon and approved by the founders on February 18, 2017. French, English, and German translations have been added to the IMA website. Considering each version is 5 or more pages, I've submitted hyperlinks below for those interested in reading them.

French: ipernityma.wixsite.com/ipernityma/copy-of-bylaws

English: ipernityma.wixsite.com/ipernityma/bylaws

German: ipernityma.wixsite.com/ipernityma/copy-of-statuts

As with previous images like this, I've not assigned it any protection rights so please feel free to download it and either add it to your own photostream or send it to your friends and contacts.

Equally, you might want to consider posting it in any groups that you administer.

For those that haven't downloaded someone else's photo before it's fairly easy where the restrictions have been removed like they have been here.

All you need to do is go to Actions and then scroll down to Download the photo (original size). Then just click and save.

There's a screenshot of how it can be done in the Notes if you're still not sure!

limone, Indycaver (Norm), Sami Serola (inactive), Ferl and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

How do we invite people to the IMA group? I think it's important for everyone to be part of it.

As far as it goes at the moment Amelia this is a group just like any other group on ipernity and anyone that wants to join can. So right now all you need to do is provide them with a link.

At some point further down the line though I imagine they'll want to move to the next step if you like which would be to get people to join the IMA 'proper' if you like and their will obviously be subscriptions to pay for that.

The best thing is to keep an eye on the various discussion threads within the IMA group as I'm sure when they are ready to move to that next stage they will let everyone know! :)

I echo what some others have been saying: Spanish translations are a must!
Thank you for keeping us up to date. I appreciate all the efforts.
Ominous silence from ipernity though. Even Audrey has been quiet of late!

As it happens Andy, Team Ipernity have today published an article entitled Survey Results.

It has links to the IMA web pages, but is a little behind the times in that it doesn't mention the news issued today about these bylaws. Still, at least it shows they haven't all left! ;)

Audrey has been very busy with the foundation of IMA, Andy, she is a great help!

I'm pleased with what you both say and I didn't mean to cast any aspersions in the direction of Audrey. If I had a company, she would be offered the job of director of PR without a doubt!.

The main public discussions Andrea can be found within the Ipernity Members Association Project group here on ipernity. Follow the link below to access the group:

Anyone currently with an account can join the IMA group here on ipernity and contribute to the discussions if they so wish.

However, if and when the IMA take over the running of the site there will be an annual fee to become a member of the IMA proper.

Only those people that have paid this fee and are members of the IMA proper will have access to the platform. The only exception is likely to be those that take out short term free accounts to trial the site, but in future these will only be available for a set period of time.

Hope that helps? :)

Maybe not the question to ask now ... or to expect a reasoned reply, but would any fee to IMA be discounted by any unused subs already paid to ip?? I'm sure many people will ask this question.

Previously when Team Ipernity were talking about closing the site altogether I'm pretty sure they posted something to say that any unused subs would be refunded.

However, I'm not sure Andy what will happen if the site continues under the management of the IMA. I suspect that it will be like starting afresh and they will need all the monies they can get to keep ipernity alive. Therefore, it sounds to me personally as if a refund from them would not be likely and in any effect would be more appropriate coming from the current management.

I'll be honest though I'm guessing somewhat here, remember although I've joined the Ipernity Members Association Project group on ipernity I am not one of the founders of the organization proper.

I suggest that you post this question within the Ipernity Members Association Project group discussions and/or also ask it of Team Ipernity.

Sorry I can't be of any more help! :(

Another thing that I didn't yet understand is if the layout of the IMA's IP will be the same as now or do we have to restart everything from zero? In other words, the new beginning means that we will loose our actual profile with all the albums (I mean, everyone should have saved the original files in some different external HD...) and pictures or the transition won't affect our actual pages?

As far as I understand it Andrea the whole point about establishing the IMA as a physical entity with these bylaws is so that they can move to crowdfunding and ultimately take over the management of the site.

Then if and when the IMA proper takes over I'd expect the platform to stay as it is and so any existing accounts, provided they belonged to people that had paid their IMA subscriptions, to stay as they are.

I think the difficulty will be when it comes to free accounts as there is no intention for these to continue as anything other than trial accounts.

I'll be honest though I'm guessing somewhat here, remember although I've joined the Ipernity Members Association Project group on ipernity I am not one of the founders of the organization proper.

I suggest that you post this question in the Ipernity Members Association Project group discussions and/or also ask it of Team Ipernity.

Sorry I can't be of any more help! :(

Just been posted by William Sutherland in the Ipernity Members Association Project group here on ipernity:

Good morning/afternoon,

We are still in discussions with Ipernity S.A. re: the future of this site and its transfer. Negotiations are ongoing to protect the best interests of the members. At the same time we are investigating crowdfunding options so we can take the next step when negotiations are concluded.

Very encouraging comments made today in the Ipernity Members Association Project group by William Sutherland:

I remain confident and optimistic there will be a successful restructuring of the Ipernity platform. Because of this, I remain active commenting, moderating in groups requiring this activity and recently posted an article that took time and research, not to mention getting some of my photos I took over the last 10 years and putting them together to present in the article. I would not put in this time and effort if I thought the platform would shut down and everything would be lost.

It is my strong belief that the new Ipernity will be a vibrant and viable platform with a bright, long-term stable future with a loyal membership base ensuring a stronger and more viable platform.

I just tried to support IMA , but they only accept payment via credit card. Not PayPal... So, as I don't have any credit card, I cannot give support.

www.generosity.com/community-fundraising/ipernity-members-association-a-non-profit-entity

On the other hand I'm thinking about, what do they get for the 50.000 $ that are asked for? The idea, the name, the income (if there is any....), the server, or what? I don't have seen any information about that.

I'm not involved in the negotiations so your questions are best put to the IMA via the group here on ipernity.

Ipernity Members Association Group

However, I can say that to the best of my knowledge the money being raised at the moment is to simply keep the site going for the next few months until a full agreement and takeover is arranged. So it will be for hosing costs and things like that.

With regards the credit card situation I believe you are not alone in lamenting the absence of being able to use Paypal. All I can suggest is that you find someone you know who has a credit card and agree to Paypal them so they can make a donation on your behalf with their credit card! :)
