1972 Jaguar E-Type - FWW 630L

1972 Jaguar E-Type - FWW 630L
Seen this lovely old Jag at a few shows now and it always looks exceptionally clean ... that colour is so understated and suits the car really well.

I was going to add exactly the same prerequisite Norm, but then I thought chance would be a fine thing! :(

Nice shot and great car, once had a colleague with a penchant for racing an E-type, often got trailered home with a blown motor though!

Drooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll !!!

My second car (and the one I learned to rebuild the body work and to spray !!) was an MGB GT that was almost that colour.

Now I was getting excited there Pam ... I thought you were leading up to saying it had been an E-type. Still, impressed with the MG and with your bodyworking skills! :)

I WISH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought the MG at a ridiculously cheap price and it needed ALOT of work... ALOT. I wasnt good at the engine stuff.. but figured I could learn the bodywork/spraying .... and I did. I traded skills and I did some body stuff on a friends car for him doing engine stuff on mine. I then did some inside painting and decorating for another pal who repaired the leather upholstery of the MG. Took about 8 mths start to finish.. but the car was a dream. A year later life got really tough and I had to sell the MG.. but at least I got a really good price.. but I would have the car back tomorrow ! It was an original G surfix... before the P one they ruined the style of.

Always sad when you have to part with a car that you've invested so much time and money into. I had my first Mk2 Scirocco for over 20 years and was in the process of doing a full restoration when I had to let her go.

My workshop got broken into and they not only took all my tools and spare parts I'd been collecting for the restoration, but also the engine and gearbox which we'd just removed days earlier. I didn't have the money to replace all that had been stolen and so had to let her go.

It broke my heart, but that's nothing to what I'd do to the scumbags that took my stuff if I knew who they were ... sadly they were never caught! :(

My husband adores them in British racing car green. I've never seen this color before.

No, it's the first one I've seen too Esther, which makes me think it would not have been an original option, but I could be yet proved wrong as I often am! ;)

I agree with you about the colour. The British sports cars of the era were so beautiful a bright colour (I'm thinking red) seemed like gilding the lily. So many nice dark blue and green ones.

Quite partial to the light blue ones as well John! :)
