The Likely Lads ...

The Likely Lads ...
A rather late entry (again) for last week's Sunday Challenge, which had the theme of photographers.

As I'm still very much time precious I had to dip into the archives for this one and had to play around with it in the processing room to get an effect I was anywhere near happy with.

I think interesting is the word you're most likely looking for!

A copy of the original image before it was cropped and processed is now to be found in the Notes for those that like to see these things.

Martine, , , Wierd Folkersma and 25 other people have particularly liked this photo

I love how you processed this image, Paul! It also makes me smile as these are the positions photographers tend to take when they are snapping cars at a show, lol! ;-)
Very well done, my friend. Hope things calm down for you soon.

Many thanks for the lovely comment and good wishes Val ... pleased you found the poses funny like I did although I could've done without the couple walking out of shot! :(

I am just wondering what they are taking pictures of. Has to be cars right? (very low cars? Or maybe dogs?)

Glad you made it in, Doc. :)

Thanks for that link Karen! :)

As for the image I can guarantee that it was cars that they were shooting although I like the reference to dogs - lol! ;)

Must admit though from the shot it and the poses they're adopting they could be up to anything ... footwear perhaps? :)

lol, Paul

And I remember you had some pics of dogs at the car shows. (so cute.)

Greeting Paul, nice to see you with a few spare moments. Love the image, interesting processing as you say but I really like it. The processing takes you into the image asking questions, like what are they seeing and such. I also like the person in the wellies. I hope things continue to progress well for your wife. Do take care and hope to see you soon. :)

The way you cropped from the original is brilliant ;-) Draws the attention to the concept of 'photographer(s)'. This is something I often think about. Is it better to show the context (surroundings)? Or does it work better if I crop/compose more tightly?
autofantasia club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… club
That's a tricky one Sami, I guess it all depends on the context of the shot. When I took this it was very much about the juxtaposition of the two photographers and most of the stuff in the outer frame was peripheral, which I guess is why the crop works.

At the same time I imagine a more skilled photographer might have got the shot 'right' in the first place - lol! ;)

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to autofantasia club
Well, it is better to get too much than too less ;-) I have a bad habit of trying to get it "right" at once, and many times discovered the composition too tight afterwards. Easier to crop than add ;-)
