1973 Ford Capri XL Mk1 - OKF 42M

1973 Ford Capri XL Mk1 - OKF 42M
Manufactured in 1973, this face-lifted Mk1 Capri wasn't actually registered until the following year, which was when the Mk2 entered the scene.

Well someone has certainly given this old automobile some tender loving care! Nice shot ... now I am off to see that video! :)

Always liked these cars. Not to many here in Canada. Saw lots of them in the Netherlands at the time.

Seem to remember that at least some of the Canadian models were badged Mercury Capri or something like that ... oh, and they looked awful with those massive bumpers too! ;)

Back in the 70s, we had a babysitter who owned a Capri. Always thought it was so "cool" that the horn was on the tip of the turn signal stick. (Though now, that clearly is not a very smart place to put it).

You NEVER see Capris in the states anymore. I think that one (it was brown with a dark brown vinyl top) was the last one I ever saw... some 40 years ago.

Great story my friend ... glad this shot brought back some good memories. Shame about the shortage of them over there though in recent years! :(

The Mark 2 never looked as authentic. The 2.8 never sounded as determined as the 3 litre. But they were only ever Cortinas wearing sharper suits. And even then they were beyond my means.
