Classic Cars From Around The World

The Sunday Challenge - Car Badge or Logo: Macro(ish)

The Sunday Challenge - Car Badge or Logo: Macro(ish)

Austin-Healey cars were produced from 1952 through until 1972, when the 20-year agreement between Healey and Austin came to an end marking the end of an era.

This shot was chosen specifically with the challenge in mind. However, I've added a few from the autofantasia archives into the notes that might have made the grade had I elected to use an image I'd previously uploaded.

Henk Bouwers, Lebojo, Hrólfur Árnason, Rambonp and 28 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thanks Sami. Glad you like it although I realise it isn't quite as macro(ish) as some that have been posted.

Excellent capture of a real classic. My Healey was a Sprite Mark I, the bug eyed one. Never enjoyed a car as much as that one.

You could have got away with just the logo but the grill and vent add soooooooo much more. Would make a good poster for a car showroom.

Ha ha, great minds eh? my first image (that I've not put up) was exactly this crop on a same colour Austin Healey 3000 MkIII, and in your notes you've the same angle and crop on a jag mascot and badge that I did . . . .

JOOI did you touch up the red in the badge? the one in mine was rather corroded

autofantasia has replied to Amazingstoker
I know, I was struck by how similar your Jag shot was to the ones I normally take of that car ... great minds indeed!

As for the red, I did dodge it a smidgen, but to be honest it made little difference ... the badge like the rest of the car was in stunning condition!

Great elegant shot, beautiful curved lines with the straight vertical ones and in the center the red logo
3 years ago.
autofantasia has replied to Wierd Folkersma
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I just wish the verticals on the lower grille were a little straighter ... don't know if that was how it was fitted or some distortion through the lens?

Color me very impressed too! I love each one of your photos. They are just gorgeous. The grill on this beauty reminds me of a harmonica. I love how clean and clear this photo is and the great colors. This was a very fun challenge you gave us Paul. Thank you!

Michelle Ress
Michelle Ress
how do you add those other photos?
autofantasia has replied to Michelle Ress
Okay Michelle, here goes …

Go to the photo you want to insert into another and on the right hand side of your screen click on the Actions bar and select the Share (HTML code / BBCode) option. Next decide which size of photo you want to pop up, I normally go for 1024. Select the size you want and then copy the HTML/BBCode.

Now go to the photo you want to add this image into and once again click on the Actions bar. This time you want to select the Add a note option.

When the note window pops up simply paste your code into it overwriting the Type a note prompt. Next you simply need to click Save. If you're not happy with where the image/note is by default you can reposition it simply by clicking onto the little box and then dragging it where you want it to rest over the main image. If you do reposition it don't forget to save it.

Remember you can just add text into a note if you wish, it isn't just for inserting photographs although that's what I tend to use it for most.

It's worth pointing out though that images you add into a note are not protected by ipernity as the ones in your actual photostream are. So any image you insert in this way could potentially be copied and downloaded by someone else. That might bother you, but it's worth saying.

You can also add text notes into other people's photos although some people switch this option off so as not to have loads and loads of notes added onto their images by other people.

Hope that helps Michelle … let me know how you get on.
