1992 Honda Concerto 1.5i - J705 THN

1992 Honda Concerto 1.5i - J705 THN
Spotted in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Maybe not a classic, but now over 20 years old and a rare sight on our roads.

The Honda Concerto was co-developed by Honda and the Austin Rover Group, derived from the Civic and produced from 1988 until 1994.

Honda stopped manufacturing the Concerto in Great Britain when its partner, Rover, was taken over by BMW.

20 year old? It's a classic! I don't think I've ever seen such a Honda before.

Oh, I was trying to avoid opening that particular can of worms. There appear to be so many definitions of what's a classic and what isn't. Some over here in the UK would use the rolling 30 year tax exemption as the definition, some would say 25 years ... me, I've always thought it was anything over 20 years of age.

However, I must admit I'm struggling to feel comfortable with the thought that in just a few years my 20 year old definition would include cars from the Nineties. Maybe old in itself isn't enough any more particularly as in the last couple of decades manufacturers are making less appealing cars that last longer!

Well, I'll take the blame for opening the worm can! :D

But then whether something is classic or vinatge is all relative. I'm also into planes. To me, classic planes = the Airbus A300, Boeing 727, DC-10, L1011 TriStar etc. Yet, even the Airbus A340, Boeing 757 and 767 are becoming rare, so they are now the new classics.
