East Croydon is not the sort of place you hang out. Not because it is dangerous, but because there is nowhere to go. Caught between the railway station and two social housing estates, the only real destination at night is is the Croydon Park hotel.
The main A232 provides the only region where a human is most likely to be found although a few late commuters scurry from East Croydon station along Altyre road to the bright haven of the A232.
