"Early modern exploitation of manatees and current conservation issues"

"Early modern exploitation of manatees and current conservation issues"
Today I participated in the above conference, at the Humanities Center/Lisbon New University, CHAM/UNL, where the Professor Doctor Cristina Brito described the state-of-the-art of this highly endangered specie by the marine pollution, frequent nautical accidents, and still intense feeding/industrial exploitation by little sensitized populations living at the coastal areas of their main habitats: Western Africa, Caribbean and America.

If you pretend to go deep into these matters you can find the links for the international research line "Environmental History and The Sea", at the mosaic bottom right corner.

cammino, Steve Bucknell, Ulrich John, and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo
